Chris Magnusson

Guest speaker Chris Magnusson

Having served in the United States Marine Corps as a Special Intelligence Communications Center Operator, Chris Magnusson had been stationed in a variety of units that included Parris Island, Company K Marine Support Battalion, 2nd Radio Battalion and Company F Marine Support Battalion. In 1991, after six years, she was honorably discharged as a Sergeant (E-5) and returned to her home in Hibbing as a veteran.

Since her separation, Chris Magnusson has been a part of the forming of the Yellow Ribbon Committee, served on the board for the Minnesota Women Veterans Initiative, a member of the United Way of Northeastern Minnesota United for Veterans group and charter member of the Northeastern Minnesota Women's Veterans group.  She's also received the Hibbing Area Chamber of Commerce Above and Beyond award, a Certificate of Appreciation and Challenge Coin from Able Troop 1st Squadron 94th Cavalry Regiment, and a 2018 Lifesaver Award from the United Way of Northeastern Minnesota.

Wherever they go, both nationwide and internationally, Letters From Home brings a performance that is heartwarming and entertaining. Through music and songs from the 1940s to the 1960s, as well as tap dancing, comedy, and audience interaction, Letters From Home honors our veterans, active duty military and their families.
