It was a privilege for Rotarians to hear a newer member of the club, Lenny Conklin, speak about his life and his passions during the Rotary meeting on Tuesday.

Mr. Conklin came forward to present a classification speech and began by mentioning he grew up in West Duluth and graduated from Denfeld High School in 1994. He attended college at Michigan tech and pursued a degree in mechanical engineering. Mr. Conklin graduated in 1999 and began working with LHB architects in Duluth. He later began a career at Sappi. After 13 years at Sappi, Mr. Conklin needed a change. He became a State Farm Insurance agent in Cloquet to own his own business and to get the satisfaction of helping people. He likes being held accountable for himself as a businessman. With four children of his own, including baby twins, Mr. Conklin is content with this career change. He stated, “Don't ever say never, or be afraid to take a chance. Have a little faith.” Mr. Conklin is excited about being is Rotary because of the opportunities to give back and serve others.
