For this week's program Rachael Martin showed a power point program about the Carlton County Historical Society's "Wedding Dress Style Show" held in July of 2013.

She explained that she wanted the Cloquet JrRotarians to see the program, since Hailey Ulvi was in the style show and Rachel Macauley's sister, Maria, a former Jr. Rotarian, was the musician. Other Cloquet Jr. Rotarians were involved, too. Abbi Parenteau, who served on the CCHS Board of Directors, then was hired as a Summer Intern after graduation, and was in charge of organizing the show. She lined up wedding dresses loaned by people throughout the county, including Karen Smith's handmade dress for her daughter's wedding. She found models, did fittings, decorations, program booklet, acted as stage manager the day of the event, sent thank you letters to models and dress loaners, and prepared the power point we viewed. We saw wedding dresses from the 1930s to the 1980s with photos of the models and the women who loaned either their own or their family member's dress. Rachael concluded that it was a successful event in many ways. Besides an appreciative audience, it brought young people and the older generation together, sharing their historic clothing. It also showed what talent our Jr. Rotarians have - there's nothing they can't do when they work together.
